About Our Organization

Marist Dance Ensemble offers a wide range of dance classes in all levels and styles. Our student choreographers excel in teaching dance styles such as, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, ballet, modern, tap, musical theatre, Irish step dance, Latin, and more! MDE is a place for anyone, whether you have years of dance experience, or want to try something new. We produce a professional showcase each semester featuring our members in 25 student choreographed dances. In addition to dance, our club takes pride in its community involvement on campus as well as further outreach. We actively engage with groups to make a difference through our community service initiatives, and host exciting events for our members to participate in. Despite being one of the largest on-campus organizations, Marist Dance Ensemble is a tight knit community that aims to spread joy and love through dance and beyond.

Club Leadership

President: Julia Kupka / Anna Freeh

• The President of Dance Ensemble oversees all club classes, meetings, and events. They are responsible for planning the showcase each semester and coordinating with the other board members. As the central liaison between dancers and the general public, the President manages all commutation and outreach to a wider community.

Vice President: Mya Randall / Madison Chan

• The Vice President of Marist Dance Ensemble manages the production of the showcase. They work with lighting, sound, stage set up, and videography before and during the showcase. Leading up to the show, they create the playlist, approve costumes, and work very closely with the president and secretary.

Secretary: Madison Chan / Nora Boyd

• The Secretary maintains accurate records, including attendance and membership lists, and manages all club communications. They ensure members receive important updates, announcements, and deadlines via email. Additionally, the secretary assists in organizing the end-of-semester showcase, coordinating with choreographers and performers to ensure a smooth and successful event.

Treasurer: Sean Kennedy / Claudia Sorrentino

• The treasurer oversees the club budget and allocation and works directly with student activities to process disbursements and reimbursements. They organize cash boxes for events like the showcase and apparel sales. Additionally, they order shirts for the executive board and organize food orders during dress rehearsal.

Show Committee Manager: Haillie D’Andrea / Olivia Farrell

• The Show Committee Manager is responsible for coordinating show day planning. They train our student volunteers, oversee each position, and make sure everything runs smoothly at the showcase. They reach out to local businesses to gain donations for raffle prizes, order flowers to sell, oversee the raffle drawings, and handle general logistics of the show. 

Community Service Manager: Claudia Sorrentino / Courtney Blom

• The Community Service Manager leads all community service initiatives for Dance Ensemble. Each semester, they select a donation site for item collections and a non-profit organization to receive proceeds from the 50/50 raffle. Additionally, they track community service points, seek volunteer opportunities, and coordinate showcase-related service efforts. 

Social Media Manager: Annie Kacin / Coryn Rebimbas

• The social media manager stays up to date with general MDE information and posts updates, schedule reminders and club events on Instagram. We also make and post videos highlighting the club and dancers on Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube.

Graphic Design Manager: Eva Sylvain / Victoria De La Garza

• The Graphic Design Manager is responsible for all things to promote the show! They make the official poster for the show and put together the programs. This involves taking many photos for the club, focusing on the semester's executive board and choreographers! They also design the tickets for ticket sales.

Public Relations Manager: Emma Rubenstein / Marlo Ferrante

• The PR and Events manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing club events and collaborations with other organizations on campus. They are also responsible for filming, editing, and producing the Pump-Up promotional video shown at the showcase each semester.

Meeting Times

All classes are held in the student center dance studio, and meet in accordance with the schedule detailed below:

Earn Priority Points through Clubs and Activities

To earn one (1) point: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 50% of club/organization activities.

To earn two (2) points: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 75% of club/organization activities PLUS the community service event.

To earn three (3) points (executive board only): Officers must attend 50% of club meetings for the semester and 100% of club activities including community service. If executive board members do not complete all of the requirements to earn three points, they will be eligible to receive up to two points based on the above criteria.
